So you’ve read the articles, saying stick to your staples, and add a touch of bold color for that extra umph! Well, now it’s more than just sticking to the safety of a white shirt and black slacks.   More than just a red pump or purple scarf, this season the fashion is about the clean lines of the bold block!

The Black and White Block

The basic staples in the closet have now become the quintessential look of couture for everyone everywhere.   There’s a slight chance that we can accredit this to the recent nuptials of Mrs. Humphries, a.k.a. Kim Kardashian, whose wedding extravaganza was a Black and White Affair.  Either way the fashion world is taking notice and recognizing the grandeur that is simplicity.

It appears that your basic colors are the only colors that you need this season to stand out in the crowd.  Replacing the bold, brightest of ROY G. BIV,  the bookends of the greyscale, are the perfect staple to a great look are now the perfect stand out piece to a phenomenal, head turning look.

The Boldness of The Block

Taking center stage this season is color blocking, the boldness of bright colors, seamlessly bumping into each other in a graphic collision of fashion fusion.  The eclectic hodgepodge of boldness is not for the weak of heart or the obsessive compulsive of the fashion forward.  Designers are brightly coordinating looks for a seamless execution.

The color block can be as simple as pairing a pink shirt, with a turquoise skirt, yellow tights and top it off with green shoes. This a color block that any woman and fashionista can pull out of her closet, for a fabulous fashion forward ensemble.  Too simple for you?  Check out the designers that are taking dresses and suits and geometrically blocking out sections in bold colors.
